Agricultural wastes are unusable materials, liquid or solid,
resulting from the agricultural production process, such as fertilizers,
pesticides, crop waste (such as fruit pruning residues) and manure.
The data analysis, which includes the amounts of different categories
of agricultural waste generated during the period from 2017 to 2021,
provides an insight into the dynamics and trends of waste generation.
This analysis is key to understanding how different types of waste
accumulate over time and how effective strategies can be implemented
to manage them. The goal of statistical analysis is multiple: to identify
trends in waste generation for each category, to check assumptions for
applied statistical models, to group waste categories based on
similarities in their annual amounts, and finally, to draw relevant
conclusions that could help in the formation of waste management
policy. At the core of our society and its development lies the ability to
understand and manage the resources we have, as well as the waste
we generate. Research on waste data has multiple significance. First,
it allows us to identify the main sources of waste, which is the first
step towards reducing them. Second, analyzing trends in waste
generation helps predict future challenges and needs for waste
management infrastructure. Third, understanding the different types of
waste and their quantities allows the development of specific
strategies for recycling, composting or energy valorization, thereby
contributing to the conservation of natural resources and reducing
pollution. Finally, this research plays a key role in shaping policies
and regulations that strive towards sustainable waste management,
promoting practices that are in line with the principles of a circular
economy.
